The Norfolk Broads are a great way to spend a day, either walking round some of the broads, along the rivers or by taking a boat trip.


History stops for nobody and Great Yarmouth's fascinating heritage is waiting to be unravelled and secrets discovered throughout the year.


The resort buzzes with greyhound and stockcar racing throughout the year and horse racing fixtures running from April to November. Events in the area range from maritime events,new in 2010 Mardi gras, classic car rallies and carnivals to the Bowls Championships and the Christmas market, and French markets, and a Christmas market.

Exploring East Anglia's countryside you will find something appealing for everyone from impressive attractions such as rural crafts, animal collections, gardens and windmills to historic houses, castles and archaeological remains.  The Norfolk Broads are full of wildlife, have lunch in the many pubs with views over broads.

 

The City of Norwich is approximately 30 minutes drive from Great Yarmouth. A city of heritage; with a Norman Keep, splendid Cathedral and Churches, whilst also offering outstanding theatre shows, fantastic shopping and grand open air market.  Park and ride recommended.

The annual Great Yarmouth duck race takes place in Waterways, which was a great afternoon.  The day was very sunny as it had been all summer.  The duck race is very popular and all proceeds go to charity.
